The first time I saw a buffalo in real life, I thought wow he's BIG, and he sure doesn't look friendly. I was a bit wary of America's wildlife at the time, because just a month before while out photographing wolves, a moose chased me up a tree. I suspect that incident made the buffalo look even bigger and less friendly.
