Peer pressure isn't just a teen phenomena. This hilarious video proves that conformity is a powerful force at any age.
Editor's Note:
One of the Comments blow refers to the work of Solomon Asch. The Wikipedia provides a short introduction to the research of Solomon Asch. While Asch is not without his critics, his work did provide a foundation for further studies of the dynamics behind conformity. Those who dig a little deeper are going to find some studies of authority and conformity that had some pretty scary results.
When viewing this video I believe it should be remembered that this clip was made for a TV show that was meant to entertain, not inform. While the video does show the need in some to conform, there's no way of knowing how many people were filmed who didn't conform. I don't believe any conclusions can be drawn from this clip other than some people conform to group behavior, and when properly presented conformity is funny.

When I have gone to large and important meetings on high floors, I mimic people in the elevetors- but not because I have no sense of self. It's a widely known sales technique.
